God Saw The Light Genesis 1:1-5

GOD SAW THE LIGHT
Genesis 1:1-5

Genesis 1:1-5

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.

The name for God is Elohiym a plural noun, An indication of God in 3 persons. An indication of His deity and completion

In verse one and two, God does not say He spoke the heavens and the
Earth into being. He left that to our personal research. It is by the study of
The Word that we grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Psalms 33:6-7
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;he puts the deep into storehouses.

God has a plan for you and will place that in your heart, and you will know
It at the right time. Because it is God’s plan it will be completed according
To His will.

Jeremiah 1:5
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

When you show up in submission to the Spirit, power shows up. Because
the God in you shows up. When God shows up authority
Shows up. Stuff happen when you are in the presence of the Lord.

When you show up love shows up. When you show up compassion shows up. When you show up joy shows up, When you show up peace shows up.
When you show up attitudes can change. When you show up God ought to dominate the conversation.

The earth was formless and empty and covered with water. It was
Formed that way for His divine will to take place for your good.

God knew what you needed before you were born. He condesends to your level.

In verse 1 and 2 we are introduced to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. In verse 2, the Spirit was entergizing the waters You have air, water
And mass being shaken up. The Word for Spirit is ruwach is air, breath,
Tremulous motion. When the Spirit show up in Acts 1:8 it was sound of a mighty Rushing wind and 120 people were filled with the spirit and the church was put in motion.

In verse 3, the Word is introduced. God said let there be light and there was light

We have no idea of the time frame of the “beginning”. Since God has no beginning or ending, there may have been a time when God was complete without creation.

Revelation 22:13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

John 1:1-2
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

Hebrews 7:2-3
First, his name means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” 3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
NIV

Just want to establish that we cannot put a time stamp on “the beginning
All we know is there is a time when God began the creative process.”

Since God gives the creative process in orderly steps, we can assume God
Created the heavens first then the earth. He does not give us much information about the heavens at this time, but much about the earth

It is said that there are three levels of heaven,

The first is the atmosphere Genesis 1:78
The second the place pf the moon and the stars Psalms 19:1
The third is the abode of God 2 Cor 12: 2-4

God could have eliminated the rest of the creative process but chose
To do it in stages perhaps for us to get some idea of His power, authority, and Infinite knowledge.

The earth was formless and void. God made the earth with nothing
In it. He made the earth with no shape. The only thing I know without shape is water and air, but they have content. We don’t know what void means.
We have always been able to see something, feel something, hear
Something. Smell something and learn something.

Genesis 1:2
darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

We know darkness because we have light to remind us. Darkness is from the Hebrew word choshel which means death, misery, and ignorance.
In this context, I suggest the meaning of ignorance. Darkness can also
Mean confusion and disorder

The word deep is tehown which means a mass of water. The Spirit of God
Was hovering over the surface of the water which covered the entire mass of the earth. Why?

The word hover (moved) means to flutter or shake like a hen laying an egg, preparing the water for life. God knows how to shake us up and get
Us ready for something new and exciting.

Genesis 1:3-5
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.
NIV

What is this light God is referring too? It would not be the sun. He does not introduce the solar system until the 4th day.

Since Jesus is the Light of the world, perhaps God is introducing us to the concept of His presence. Some believe light in this sense refers to God’s
Power, authority, and human language. Since Jesus is the light of the
World the whole body of human knowledge may have been set to be
Introduced to the world.

The Hebrew word for light is owr which also means Fire. It is the Same word pillar of fire that led the Hebrews in the desert. Maybe the shaking of the Spirit over the water caused the Friction of created metals rubbing together to produce the heat needed for vegetation and animal life.

God saw the light and it was good. It was complete and perfect and ready
For a perfect world. God is good all the time. His goodness endure forever.
God didn’t show up in your life with good. He has always been good.

God divided the light from darkness. In the spiritual sense light and darkness have nothing in common. They oppose each other. One is
Knowledge and one is ignorance.

God saw the light and it was good. He never said or proclaimed darkness as good. God set up the world order; good and evil, Light and darkness, heaven and hell, believers and none believers, and the way to salvation.
He established wisdom and ignorance.

Since the universe was born in disorder, He established order as the preference for mankind. He introduced His Son as the light and pathway
To eternal goodness.

The Goodness of God is His grace, His mercy, His righteousness, His
Gentleness, His hope, His strength, His provisions, His protection
His Word.

God separated the light from the darkness.

Isaiah 5:20-21
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil,
who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

The Hebrew word for darkness is choshek which means death, ignorance, misery, confusion.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

The Lord saw the light and said it is good. Maybe a prelude to this is my Son in whom I am well pleased, The only relationship the Son has with darkness It is to eradicate it.

What we know about the new heaven, there will be no sun, the Son will be the light.

Revelation 21:23-24
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Light is essential to every living thing
Light is deliverance.
Light reveals hidden dangers
Light is the beginning of hope
Light is sweet and pleasant
Light is the brightness of the glory of God
Light express the image person of Jesus
It is the light of Jesus that complete us
It is from His light that we know righteousness
It is from His light that we have knowledge and wisdom
It is from His light that we have redemption
It is for His light that we are saved from ourselves
It is throughHis light that we have eternal life
